“The fact that I’m using words doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m saying anything.”
― Craig D. Lounsbrough
One of the things I love most about my work is the little gems that come my way via pitches. They’re usually from random bloggers/PR people. Most of them are somehow related to the industries/topics that are my focus. So, business-y, finance-y, tech-y things, HR stuff.
Usually it’s something like this:
“Bob Blahster, CEO of [startup no one’s heard of] has just done [not very original thing] which promises to disrupt the industry! Would you like to talk to Bob Blahster? Let me know and we’ll set up an interview.”
No thanks, I would rather bake my own vomit into a cake.
🤮
But sometimes there’s more. A sparkly little diamond in the rough. Like this one:
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SPARKLING GEM OF AN EMAIL. Let’s dive in:
First of all it’s not an article or a post or even a survey, it’s a psychological study. A study. A psychological study of the BEST SEX POSITION FOR YOUR ZODIAC SIGNS. Thank you, Psychology. We needed this.
I am happy to report that the author (sorry, co-author) of this study is qualified, per the email signature:
“Sex Blogger & Relationship Advisor
BSc Psychology, University of East London”
So it’s all good, it’s legit, as both a sex blogger and someone who has a Bachelor’s in psychology this person is certainly qualified to conduct and co-author this study. It coincides nicely with the Chinese New Year. (I did some Googling to see if I was just unaware of some important sex-related traditions for this holiday. I remain perplexed.)
As for the study itself, it’s about what you would expect: a giant infographic followed by text explanations of who should be doing what, and how, and (most importantly) why, according to ✨the stars⭐️ .
There’s so much more but let’s stop there before this gets even more NSFW. A gem of an email, and a sparkling piece of content as well. Made my week.
