This is a bad mental model

Here’s a view I’ve had of how life works:

Life is like a snow cone stand and the list of flavors is ridiculously long and varied and there is an equally long list of toppings and so the potential unique combinations are nearly infinite, and you order the one you want and that’s what you get.
