They are really good metaphors, Annie. And good questions to ponder. I agree. We change. Being present, being who you are now... and being willing to move to a different state of being take a lot of courage... and awareness. In my therapy, we talked a lot about mindfulness. The rational mind, the emotional mind and the wise mind. And there was a big emphasis on being present. Maybe I'm reading too much into the metaphors but it feels very much like you embrace the idea of being mindful and present. And embracing things as they are, not what they were.
